We encourage research that connects academic knowledge with practical needs and contributes to social and economic development in Uganda, Africa and beyond.

LIU supports research across different areas of study and encourages students and staff to develop ideas, examine existing challenges and contribute evidence that can inform better decisions and practices. We also promote critical thinking, responsible research and collaboration across different areas of knowledge.

Through research partnerships and engagement with communities, academic institutions, businesses and other organizations, LIU seeks to strengthen the connection between research and society. Our goal is to encourage research that has practical value and contributes to sustainable development, improved livelihoods and a better understanding of issues affecting our communities.
